Sandy will give a preview of what she does to determine a client’s needs and build a lesson.
Descriptions:
How to Identify Your Client's Needs: Your job as a teacher is to give your students a foundational understanding of Pilates, and to select the right exercises to target their individual needs. Being able to recognize your students needs takes practice. In this workshop Sandy will cover the power of observation, show you how she chooses exercises based on what she sees, and give you practice teaching exercises in a fun and supportive environment.
Arm Chair Heaven: The arm chair is a particularly good piece of equipment for connecting the arms into the body. It is built such that the support of the seat, the backrest and the springs allow one to focus on how the center is working as the arms move. In addition, the movement of the backrest and numerous kneeling opportunities provide a wide range of ways to challenge and connect to your center - let's look at as many as we can!
Ladder Barrel of Monkeys: The biggest barrel of them all! The ladder barrel offers a wonderful array of exercises that will significantly strengthen and open your body quickly. Learn to squeeze the juice out of the more foundational exercises and learn how to make the more challenging exercises more approachable. Also, learn how to make the exercises work for all bodies without making any adjustments to the barrel. Let's play!
